Could You Sponsor One Of These Dogs??

(page 1)

All of these wonderful dogs, for one reason or another, have become a treasured part of the SCARS family and permanent residents of the shelter.  We usually maintain a population of approximately 40 dogs – all needing every day care, including food, veterinarian care, grooming, and, of course, a daily dose of love.

Take a moment to get acquainted with some of our family….

(Go directly to the SCARS Sponsorship Programs to see how you can sponsor one of our dogs.)

JennyJenny was diagnosed at Ks. State University veterinary hospital as having Addison's disease which is rare, but treatable. Jenny is a 2 yr old purebred german shorthair pointer and will require monthly shots for the rest of her life and they are expensive. Any donations toward her care would be greatly appreciated.

Jill - Picked up staggering down the road

in over 100 degree heat in July.  Matted and covered with fleas, some wonderful people helped get her in the car. She began having seizures from heat stroke.  Here she is after being rushed to the vet where she was being shaved and treated for a variety of ills.  Jill could barely lift her head for days and it was weeks before she had the strength to do much more than a slow walk. The vet feels she may be as old as ten, but she doesn't look it. She now chases me on the four wheeler around the pond!

Greta – found running down a country road with no collar

Description: Description: rca1.jpg

RCA - RCA appears to be unadoptable.  She is so pretty but refuses to trust anyone and when prospective adopters visit, she acts so unfriendly and rude that no one is interested in her!  She is basically gentle with us and good with other dogs but after two years of failed meetings, she is here until someone decides to give her  a chance.
