Adopted*** Weimaraners ***Adopted

Finding a home together for two older Weimeraner females was going to be a challenge, and one we might not get.  The months went by and although everyone who visited SCARS commented on how beautiful the two Weims were, no one was willing to take on two large dogs!  Then one great day the application came through that we were hoping for...they had five kids and wanted both dogs...woohoo!!!  Thanksgiving was a meet and greet in KS City and the "girls" were loaded up into the car with the family and off they went to Missouri.  So far, so good....kids love them and they seem to be behaving themselves. Happy days!!!

Attention all you Weimaraner lovers!!!!  SCARS now has two healthy, beautiful Weims here and they are in need of homes. Doxie is a 7-8 year old female, who weighs 80 lbs, is spayed and housebroken.  Wilamena, or Willa as we affectionately call her, is around 5 years old, is also spayed, weights 60 lbs, and is housebroken.  These have all been family pets and their owner has been put in a nursing home.  They were loved and well cared for.  They can go separately or together so please consider them for your family.

Adopted*** Snoopy ***Adopted

What could be more fun for a little dog than to have 5 adoring children petting him all day long?  Well, Snoopy is getting all of that and has settled nicely in his new home - and just in time.  Snoopy decided it was fun to sneak under our electric fence and visit the dog across the road...not a good idea the way cars zoom on our gravel road.  We rarely have an escapee and just as I was beginning to seriously worry, I took him to Petsmart and in came a mom looking for a dog just like Snoopy!  When I took him to their house, the kids loved him and listened carefully and politely as we discussed the care of a dog.  I visited a few days later and all seemed to be going well.  I hope he continues to be a good fit with this family!

Snoopy is around 3 years old and is a male, Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix.  He is neutered and housebroken and only weighs about 12 lbs.  Snoopy was on the "hit  list" in a shelter in Missouri and we decided that it would be a shame to lose such a cutie pie.  He has quickly become a favorite here, and is a snuggle bug.  Snoopy plays with all of the dogs, but mostly loves to be with people.  He is not "barky" like many of his breed which is a plus.  Wouldn't he make a great addition to any family?

Adopted*** Powder ***Adopted

When Powder was brought to us, I had no idea  she would eventually be so beautiful.  Powder was encased in a suit of dried, rock hard hair that had been neglected for years.  She had to be anesthetized at the vets and shaved revealing two tumors and an infected neck.  Her hair weighed approximately ten pounds when removed.   She looked very thin.  In time we had her teeth cleaned and kept her on antibiotics and watched her bloom into a gorgeous purebred Samoyed.  Along came a family who had always had "Sammies" and she  is now living in Denver, Colorado and enjoying life as a healthy, happy dog!

Powder was a case of extreme neglect.  She was basically encased in a coat of hair that had thickened and hardened to weigh ten pounds.  She was rescued by some kind women and brought to us and we immediately got her to a vet.  She was shaved, had a total dental cleaning, two growths removed and her wounds healed with antibiotics.  True to the spirit of most rescued dogs, she is one happy puppy now!  Powder is spayed and housebroken, weighs around 40 pounds, and is approximately 4-5 years old.  She is a purebred Samoyed and got her name because she would not eat anything but powdered donuts when she first arrived.  Powder is gentle and a bit shy, and would bloom in a quiet and loving home.
