Adopted*** Mama  ***Adopted

Maureen was in the grocery store parking lot after school one day when she ran into a friend of hers. Her friend said her son and his family were looking for a dog for them and the kids.  Maureen told her about our boxer mix, Mama, and her friend said they would come over that same day.  Well, everyone fell in love with Mama who has a new name...Chanel! She is fitting in perfectly and guards the door from her spot in the living room.  She was described as a real "sweetheart" so I know she is loved and happy!!

Even though we call her Mama, she is only two years old.  Mama is a boxer mix of about 50 lbs.  She was "dumped" in town by an owner who no longer wanted her.  She is spayed, up to date on shots, house broken, leash trained, energetic, good with dogs and people and lots of fun. Mama probably needs a new name, but we will wait for her future family to choose one!

Adopted*** Mr. B and Dixie ***Adopted

Remember the two dogs that arrived in Kansas on an 18 wheeler? Well, miracle of miracles, after two months their owners have finally found them!  Thanks to the Internet, someone put two and two together and realized that the dogs they saw as LOST on Craig's list was also on a website in Kansas.  The excited owners from near Nashville, Tenn. called us, got in their car and drove all night to get the two dogs.  Dixie is their next door neighbor's dog and Bo is their very own beloved Beagle. What a joyous reunion!!  Those two dogs jumped in a familiar truck and settled right down for their trip home.  I told them, these were two rebels who ended up in Yankee land and needed to get home!

Mr. B is about 30 lbs, a beautiful, purebred Beagle and about two years old.  He is neutered, housebroken and great dog!!  He arrived with Dixie (read about them below).

Dixie is a beautiful, female, Rottweiler/Shepherd mix.  She is two years old, spayed and housebroken.  Dixe came to us with her pal, Mr. B (see above), riding on an 18 wheeler!!  The two of them were picked up on the highway in Tennesee and the driver did not want to leave them there.  The driver did not know what the nearest town was, but they are not microchipped and someone clearly took good care of these two dogs.  They might have been out hunting. They are well behaved in the house, come when you call and get along with everyone. Both of these dogs will make wonderful companions.

Adopted*** Sugar ***Adopted

We weren't sure we would ever find the right home for Sugar, but so far, so good.  First she came to us from Chanute where she had been found shot in the leg.  We took her in and fixed her medical needs. Then she was adopted to a home that was poorly suited for a second dog and I had to drive ALL THE WAY to Dodge to rescue her!!! So...This time I lectured her about her manners all the way to her new home and she promised to be good.  We are keeping our fingers crossed.

Sugar is a female, one year old, spayed, and housebroken Retriever mix of around 50 lbs.  She was brought to us by a family in Chanute, KS who rescued her when she was found hungry and lost.  The vet said she had been shot twice by a "projectile" but has recovered nicely.  Sugar just loves everything and everyone. She swims and plays on our 50 acres and is having a ball. She likes kids and other dogs and will be a fabulous addition to a family. Isn't she beautiful???

Adopted*** Foxy and Bella ***Adopted

Foxy and Bella have gone to good homes, but unfortunately, we have not been supplied with photos or details of their new environment.  We are happy they have found their ‘forever’ homes and wish them the best.

Bella and Foxy are coming along nicely. They are learning to play with other dogs and are more outgoing and sociable. Bella even went swimming in the pool tonight! We would like for them to be adopted together as Bella is dependent on her mom for support! They weigh about 8 lbs apiece and are totally crate trained and spayed."

Foxy (black) and Bella (white) are mother and daughter Shih Tzus.  Mom is 4 years old, and Bella is 2 years old.  They weigh about 8 lbs each.  They were victims of extreme neglect and were so matted they had to be sedated by a vet and shaved so their hair has not yet grown back.  Both have now been spayed and had all of their shots.  Housebreaking is in the works! Having been confined to a small crate, they are learning to be socialized with people and other animals.  Both of them are quiet and gentle.  Of course, it would be wonderful if they could stay together as they cry when they are separated.

Adopted*** Roxy ***Adopted

Roxy ended up here after living in a home where she was crated all day. We get so many of these dogs and they are really hyper when they first arrive.  We let them run and run and swim in the pond until they finally sit down, exhale and say, "I feel much better!"

Roxy has gone to her new home and has a canine sister and they get along just fine.  She has a big yard and lots of walks and toys.  Roxy is so unique looking.....we sure are glad she finally found her forever home.

Roxy is (we think) a 7 month old, female, Australian Shepherd mix.  She is spayed, has had all of her shots, and weighs 32 lbs.  Roxy was rescued after being in a crate for too many hours a day and had to run off some steam for a week.  She is sweet and gentle, loves everyone, and don't you just love those ears???

Adopted*** Rosie ***Adopted

Rosie is yet another brindle boxer mix.....I think they are dropping off of trees!  She is so precious and fun and some volunteers came out and fell in love with her.  They waited and waited and finally just decided to adopt her and take her home.  She has a purebred boxer for a playmate and many human brothers and sisters.  Other than having one accident on the bed(!), she is doing fine!!!

Rosie is a female, 10 month old, Boxer mix.  She is almost housebroken, spayed, and wonderful with everyone.  Rosie tends to be submissive and is gentle and sweet.  She weighs about 30 lbs and is basically full grown.  She has a very cute under bite and big floppy ears!  We all love her here and know she will be a great pet for some family!
