	Sponsor Adopt Me Success Stories Links Online Store Guestbook ----------- Newsletters Adoption Application Web Rings	Our Adopted Friends 2007 (May – July) Here are the original stories and adoption information about those dogs who came to us as a result of abuse or abandonment, and have been placed in permanent homes during 2007. 2007 Pages prev [ 1 2 3 4 5 6 ] next index ______ Adopted*** George ***Adopted George was adopted about a month ago.  He is now living in the KC area.  His new owners had one Lab/Great Dane mix and was looking for another.  Their dog was a female and they brought her to meet George and the two did great together.  George now has a large fenced yard and his new Dad jogs between 3 and 5 miles per day and takes both dogs with him.   George is a very large, male, blonde Labrador mix. He is heartworm negative, up to date on shots and neutered. How well he has been housebroken is unknown. George is so lovable that he wins the heart of everyone he meets. He is very strong and energetic and needs lots of exercise. George loves people and other animals. ______ Adopted*** Bridgette ***Adopted Bridgette now lives in Nebraska with her human parents and brother, Simon, a brave and determined little cairn terrier. Bridgette enjoys a large yard (frequented by birds to her joy,) trips to the local lake where she rolls in delicious "things" on the shore, trips to grandparents and much of her day is spent wrestling with Simon over the prized rope. Now that she is officially "Princess Bridgette," we know she will have a long and happy life and keep things lively for those around her. Bridgette is a 4 month old purebred Brittany Spaniel. She weighs 25 lbs and is almost housebroken. Bridgette is spayed, housebroken, and up to date on shots. She gets along great with other dogs and people, but tends to be a little shy probably because she was found scared running along a country road. She will make some family a wonderful, loving pet. . ______ Adopted*** Pepper ***Adopted Pepper has been adopted by a retired couple from Northern New Mexico who have always had English Setters - even raised a litter! They love to hike and Pepper will be their hiking companion.  They consider their dogs as family members and nursed their last one through three and a half difficult years of diabetes and eventual blindness, with shots twice daily among other things.  (This dog was Vinney and he passed away several months ago).   ----- Hi, My name is Pepper. Just look at me, I'm a handsome Blue Belton Llewellin field-type English Setter. I am a young adult neutered male. I'm probably about 2 to 3 years old, we're not sure but  I don't have my full coat and feathering over my hind legs yet....but I do have the typical easy going, loving personality that makes English Setters the perfect companion for an individual or family who has a large yard and time to play ball with me and walk me. A member of the "Sporting Group" of dogs, I love bonding with my human"pack" members--I'm not a dog to be left alone in a dog house at the end of the yard. I'd love to be on the sofa watching Animal Planet, eating some popcorn and snuggling with you!  I'd also love to play ball with you - for as long as you like! My foster mom says I can sit with hand commands and will stop doing something I'm not suppose to be doing when she says "Ehh-Ehh" and signals me to sit. I love all the dogs in my foster home - big ones and little bitty ones and I play really nice with all of them.  There are cats in my foster home - so far I am being a good boy, but I sure would like for them to play chase with me!!! Mom says no....darn. My happy mellow nature would also make me a great therapy dog - if you would like to train me to be one. The vet says I am in good health and he recommends a family without small children due to the amount of energy my breed is famous for. She now has  a brother named Farley and they are good buddies. She has a big yard and gets to go to work with "Dad" and give advice at his office. We will miss her but know she will have a wonderful life!! ______ Adopted*** Sonny ***Adopted Sonny is finally with a wonderful family who will treasure him and provide his “forever home”. They adopted a SCARS dog 4 yrs ago and now she has a brother. Sonny is one of the most precious dogs we have ever had and a true hero. He has survived various situations and never stopped being a loving, trusting soul. He is an inspiration to all of us. Sonny is a male, 5 year old, 85 lb, blonde Labrador Retriever mix. He is neutered, housebroken and up to date on his shots. Sonny is great with everybody and can be left in the house for prolonged periods with no problems. His family has decided he needs a different environment. Wouldn’t he make a great addition to your family? ______ Adopted*** Trinity ***Adopted Trinity has gone to a wonderful home in the country. If you remember Luke, the black lab, she is gone to be brother to Luke. That is two SCARS dogs together. We are so happy for Trinity and know that her "mom" is looking down from  heaven and smiling. Trinity is a 3 year old Labrador Retreiver mix whose owner was recently killed in a car accident. The former owner’s family tells us her wish was to be sure that Trinity would be taken care of. Trinity is a loving dog who needs lots of exercise. She is spayed and gets along well with cats and other dogs. We are not sure yet if she is housebroken. A donation was sent to SCARS as a memorial to Trinity's former owner, Kelly M.
