_____
Adopted*** Snowball ***Adopted

Snowball’s parents left him to be put to sleep but the vet
would not do that. So, SCARS posted this litte guy and a wonderful family
came along who loves him. At first
Snowball is very scared and timid, but they understood and he relaxed and
cuddled up in their laps right away.
What a precious dog and what a waste it would have been to end his
life so early. We are really happy he is now settled in his new home.
Snowball
is a male, 7 year old Maltese brought in to a local vet by his owner to be
put to sleep because they are moving.
Well, the vet could not bring himself to do it, so, we are trying to
find him a new home. Snowball is
neutered, housebroken and up to date on shots. He weighs about 12-15 lbs and is very
timid.

Adopted*** Freedom ***Adopted

Freedom has gone from a
horrible life of starvation, to a wonderful life of love and
compassion. Here she is with her new
family and they have a treasure beyond compare. When I first saw her, she had given
up. She was lying in her doghouse,
skin and bones with a blank look on her face. I had to get her out and now
she is safe. As you can see, her future looks bright.

Freedom was given up as a
starvation case and has been nursed back to health - now ready for her new
home. She is spayed, up to date
on shots, and heartworm negative.
Freedom is a 2 year old, yellow Labrador Retriever, 50 lbs, calm,
gentle and good with kids/people.
She is really a wonderful dog and deserves the best after what she
has been through.

Adopted*** Max and Meggie ***Adopted
Max
and Meggie never made it to the "Adopt Me" page! When our dear
friend Steve saw them, he wanted to adopt them for his family. He has
worked for us for several years during the day, and goes to his
"real job" at night. Steve
is a dog lover, especially Golden Retrievers. When he saw these two cuties, he decided
to take them both together and give it a shot. We here at SCARS were thrilled because we
not only knew it would be a wonderful home, they would get to stay together
and also have a nine year old boy to play with. So far, other
than going broke buying them toys and stuff, the whole family is doing
fine!!

Adopted*** Rover (now known as Mikey) ***Adopted
Rover
is now Mikey! As you can see, he has
three adoring little girls to play with and two new parents. He has a doggie park across the street
and the run of his new house. Mikey
has got to stop jumping so much, but other than that, he is adjusting
nicely. His new family has
experience with Aussies and is being very tolerant of his puppy-like
behavior. They tell me he has fit in
very well and all reports are good!
We think this is a great family portrait ... don’t you?

This beautiful boy is a 6 month
old, Australian Shepherd with one blue eye and one brown. He is neutered,
up to date on his shots and possibly housebroken. He is good with kids and
weighs about 40 lbs. Rover’s owners cannot keep him because he is a
cat chaser so his new home should not have any cats. He loves being
outdoors and indoors and really, really need a new home soon.

_____
Adopted*** Midgie (now known as Casey) ***Adopted
Midgie/Casey
has been adopted by a family who has another cocker male. She now has a
brother to play with and so far they are trying to decide who is boss!! Her
new parents bought her a toy squirrel which she is busily chasing around
the house and getting plenty of exercise. I am told she is not so scared
now and starting to relax. Midgie has been shipped around a lot in the last
few months and needs to settle down and feel safe. I think she has found
herself a home!!

Midge is a female, 4 year old, 20
lb, spayed and housebroken Cocker Spaniel.
She is also heartworm negative. Midgie is drop dead beautiful
and very sweet. Her owner was
evicted from her home and waited too long to find her a safe haven. She was
in danger of going to a high kill shelter so we took her in and got her
spayed. She would probably do best as an only dog although she has been
living with an older, female, Golden Retriever. We will try to find
out as much as we can about her personality, but in the meantime she is
safe and ready for a permanent home.

Adopted*** Keeley ***Adopted
Keeley
has gone home to her new family. She
was a little timid for the first couple of days but now she is settled in
and everyone is very happy. She sleeps in bed with her new parents
every night in her own spot. Keeley
is very friendly with their grandkids and slept with their grandson the
last time he was over. She is a real cuddler!

Keeley is a female, 2 year old,
registered and spayed, purebred Papillon.
She is housebroken, up to date on shots, 9 lbs, and good with
all animals and people. Keeley is
very gentle and just wants to be someone's lap dog. A kind woman rescued her after seeing
someone "drop kick" her across the room. Now she is moving into an apartment that
does not allow pets. We are so glad she rescued her and we are sure the perfect
home is out there waiting.

Adopted*** Oliver (now known as George) ***Adopted
George
has gone off to an old farmhouse with lots of exciting trees and new things
to investigate. He is inside most of the time, which he prefers. His new
family is a long time "dog loving family" and has years of
experience training and showing dogs. When we left he was drowsing on his
new pillow and looking very comfy. George needed his very own home and we
hope he continues to bring them pleasure as he did us.

Oliver is a 3 year old, male,
purebred yellow Labrador Retriever. He is neutered and up to date on
shots. Oliver appears to be housebroken
and loves everyone!! He has lots of
energy and needs a family of his own and room to exercise. Oliver came to us one dark rainy morning
...someone put him through our gate in the middle of the night and left
quietly. He is safe now.
